President Cyril Ramaphosa's August 2024 Public Programme Announced

The President will meet with Cabinet members, senior business leaders, and technical experts to discuss a new collaborative partnership aimed at overcoming growth barriers in South Africa.

Following the formation of the Government of National Unity (GNU) and the delivery of the Opening of Parliament Address, President Cyril Ramaphosa's public schedule for August 2024 has been outlined by Presidential Spokesperson Vincent Magwenya.

Key Engagements for August 2024:

Thursday, 8 August: President Ramaphosa will undertake a working visit to Angola. During this visit, he will discuss bilateral relations and regional issues with Angolan President João Lourenço, including the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo and broader regional conflicts. He will be accompanied by the Ministers of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, and Defense, Angie Motshekga.

Wednesday, 13 August: The President will meet with Cabinet members, senior business leaders, and technical experts to discuss a new collaborative partnership aimed at overcoming growth barriers in South Africa.

Thursday, 15 August: President Ramaphosa will host a public signing ceremony for the Health Compact at the Union Buildings in Pretoria at 1:30 pm.

Saturday, 17 August: He will attend the 44th Ordinary Summit of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Heads of State and Government in Zimbabwe. The summit will focus on the policy direction and overall functions of SADC.

Friday, 23 August: The President will visit the City of Ekurhuleni in Gauteng for a District Development Model oversight visit and Presidential Imbizo.

Monday, 26 August: President Ramaphosa will address the JET Municipal Conference, aimed at discussing the effective implementation of the JET Implementation Plan (JET IP) approved by Cabinet in November 2023.

Wednesday, 28 August: He will deliver the keynote address at the Business Unity South Africa (BUSA) Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Thursday, 29 August: President Ramaphosa will appear in a hybrid plenary session of the National Assembly to provide oral replies to questions from Members of Parliament at 2 pm.

Friday, 30 August: The President will travel to Zimbabwe for a working visit to attend the official opening of the 114th edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show, following an invitation from Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
