Amit Shah Inaugurates Digital Justice Systems and Water Supply Project in Chandigarh

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate new digital systems to enhance the criminal justice system in Chandigarh and a 24x7 water supply project under the Smart City Mission in Manimajra. These initiatives align with the new criminal laws effective from July 1 and aim to improve public services.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to inaugurate several innovative digital systems aimed at strengthening the criminal justice apparatus in Chandigarh, including e-evidence, Nyay Setu, Nyay Shruti, and e-summon systems.

Shah will also launch a 24x7 water supply project in Manimajra, a crucial initiative under the Smart City Mission designed to benefit over one lakh residents. The Rs 75 crore project aims to reduce water wastage, enhance water resource management, and improve efficiency through smart metering and energy consumption monitoring.

This development comes in line with the new criminal laws effective from July 1, replacing colonial-era legal frameworks to better serve timely and effective justice.
