Missouri prosecutors charged a rural Illinois resident on Saturday with making a 'terroristic threat' on social media, stating his intention to shoot two Kansas City Chiefs football players during a country music concert.

The individual, identified as 23-year-old Aaron Brown of Winchester, Illinois, was apprehended on Friday night at a Morgan Wallen concert held at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. The event saw attendance from two members of the Kansas City Chiefs football team, although no violence was reported.

According to NBC affiliate KSHB, Brown admitted to the police that his actions amounted to a 'stupid, stupid, stupid mistake' and revealed that he had deleted the social media post, made on the platform X, before arriving at the concert. The identities of the football players were not disclosed by the Jackson County, Missouri prosecutor's office.

The concert experienced a 40-minute delay as police worked to apprehend Brown, with assistance from the Kansas City FBI office, which obtained a waiver from X to uncover Brown's name and cell phone number, as reported by NBC affiliate. Brown was located after he informed the police of his seating position alongside his girlfriend.

He now faces a felony charge of 'Making a Terroristic Threat in the second degree,' according to the prosecutor's office, and his bond was set at $15,000 early on Saturday. Authorities have not yet disclosed whether Brown made bond by Saturday night.
