A court on Saturday dismissed the bail plea of four co-owners of a coaching center's basement where three civil services aspirants drowned last month. The decision came after the prosecution noted the transfer of the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
On Friday, the Delhi High Court had transferred the probe into the drowning incident from the Delhi Police to the CBI to ensure public confidence in the investigation. Additional Sessions Judge Rakesh Kumar, handling the appeal from the basement co-owners—Parvinder Singh, Tajinder Singh, Harvinder Singh, and Sarbjit Singh, against the bail denial by a magisterial court, allowed the co-owners to file a fresh bail plea with the appropriate CBI court.
"We will move a fresh bail plea today before the competent CBI court after getting the (written) order from the court," stated advocate Amit Chadha, counsel for the co-owners.
