Telangana Government Scrutinizes NDA's New Criminal Laws Amidst Social Media Concerns
The Telangana government is examining three new criminal laws introduced by the NDA at the Centre. Minister D Sridhar Babu mentioned the assessment in the state Assembly. Concurrently, there are concerns about morphed videos related to House proceedings, prompting a cybercrime investigation.

The Telangana government is currently scrutinizing the three new criminal laws enacted by the NDA government at the Centre.
Minister for Legislative Affairs D Sridhar Babu informed the Assembly that the state's Law department is analyzing these laws to determine their impact on civil liberties and state governance.
The laws in question — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) — took effect on July 1, replacing existing Indian legal codes.
Additionally, the state plans to allocate 100 acres in Greater Hyderabad for a new high court complex with a budget of Rs 1,000 crore.
Further concerns were raised by state Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar about morphed videos on social media related to Assembly proceedings; cybercrime police are investigating these incidents following a complaint by a Congress leader.
