BJP leaders have vehemently criticized the AAP-led Delhi government for alleged irregularities and negligence at the Asha Kiran Shelter Home in Rohini, following the deaths of several inmates.

Local BJP MLA Vijender Gupta, along with other party leaders, attempted to visit the shelter home but were denied entry, leading to protests.

Gupta alleged that the shelter home staff were unpaid, children were malnourished, and accused the Delhi government of trying to cover up the deaths, which include 13 people over a span of 20 days.

Rekha Gupta, BJP Mahila Morcha's national vice president, also joined the chorus, blaming administrative negligence and lapses for the fatalities. She emphasized the BJP's commitment to obtaining a proper explanation.

BJP leader Shazia Ilmi added that the deaths occurred under mysterious circumstances and demanded that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal resign.

In response, AAP criticized BJP's protest tactics and highlighted different issues including the deaths in East Delhi. Revenue Minister Atishi has ordered a magisterial probe into the shelter home deaths.
