Telangana Reviews New Criminal Laws by Central Government
The Telangana government is currently reviewing three new criminal laws introduced by the Central Government. Minister D Sridhar Babu informed the state Assembly that the laws are being examined for their impact on civil liberties. Additionally, the state plans to build a new high court complex in Hyderabad.

The Telangana government is undertaking a review of three new criminal laws recently enacted by the NDA government at the Centre.
Minister for Legislative Affairs D Sridhar Babu addressed the Assembly, revealing that the Law department is carefully examining these laws. 'We are closely analysing the implications on civil liberties, freedom of expression, and several other issues to understand their impact on the state and its people,' he stated.
The laws in question — Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) — came into force on July 1, replacing the Indian Penal Code, the Code of Criminal Procedure, and the Indian Evidence Act respectively.
In other significant developments, Sridhar Babu announced that the state government has sanctioned 100 acres within the Greater Hyderabad area for the construction of a new high court complex, with a budget allocation of Rs 1,000 crore.
