A Slovenian court has sentenced two Russians to one year and seven months in prison on charges of espionage and using fake identities, according to state news agency STA. The man and woman, who pleaded guilty, have already served their detention period and will be deported.

The Ljubljana district court also announced that they are barred from entering Slovenia for five years. The duo was arrested in December 2022, initially claiming to be Argentinian nationals.

Additionally, the court decided to confiscate items and cash related to the crime. The ruling is final and cannot be appealed.
