Government's Cyber Crime Portal Records 1.94 Lakh Complaints on Child Pornography and Rape
Nearly 1.94 lakh complaints related to child pornography and rape have been registered on India's National Cybercrime Reporting Portal till April 30, 2024. Union minister Annapurna Devi highlighted ongoing efforts, including the integration of helplines and advanced tracking systems in various states and union territories, to combat cybercrime effectively.

India's National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP) has recorded approximately 1.94 lakh complaints concerning child pornography and rape up to April 30, 2024, according to Union Minister Annapurna Devi.
In a written statement to the Rajya Sabha, the Women and Child Development Minister revealed that NCRP has attracted over 16.18 crore visitors since its inception, and till March 31, more than 69.05 lakh cyber tipline reports have been relayed to the respective states and union territories.
Devi also noted that the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS-112) is operational across all 36 states and union territories, having handled over 36.29 crore calls. Additionally, integration efforts for the Women's Helpline and Vehicle Tracking Platform aim to enhance safety measures across the nation.
