A 27-year-old man, Mohd Cheriya, was killed by a black bear in a forest area in Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday, officials reported.
Cheriya, a resident of Saroor, was attacked by the bear at approximately 8 am while he was grazing his cattle. The bear retreated into the forest after being pursued by local residents who heard Cheriya's cries for help.
Sadly, Cheriya succumbed to his injuries before he could be transported to a hospital, officials confirmed.
