External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday categorically ruled out any involvement of a third party in resolving India's border dispute with China, stating that it is a matter for the two countries to address independently.

Speaking at a press conference in Tokyo, Jaishankar stressed that India is not seeking assistance from other nations to resolve the issues with China. The minister noted that the relationship between the two countries is currently not in a good place.

Jaishankar was in Tokyo to attend a Quad foreign ministerial meeting. He recalled his recent meetings with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during which they discussed the need to expedite the disengagement process following the military standoff in eastern Ladakh. Despite ongoing tensions, both sides have agreed to maintain peace and continue dialogue.
