Radical Leader and 1,500 TLP Workers Face Charges Over Death Threats to Chief Justice

An FIR has been filed against a prominent figure of the radical Islamist group Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and 1,500 of its workers for issuing death threats to Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa.

The FIR targets Pir Zaheerul Hasan Shah, the Deputy Amir of TLP, citing multiple charges under the Anti-Terrorism Act, including inciting religious hatred, public disorder, and threats to the judiciary.

According to the FIR, Shah incited hatred and even promised a PKR 10 million reward for Justice Isa's head during a protest. This comes after Defence Minister Khawaja Asif vowed stern action against those issuing such threats, emphasizing the state's zero-tolerance policy on such inflammatory rhetoric.
