A sharp rise in crimes against Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in Rajasthan has been reported since the BJP assumed power, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot stated on Monday.

Gehlot demanded that Chief Minister Bhajan take immediate action to safeguard Dalits and tribals, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

Sharing a news report from Jodhpur's Shergarh, where a 40-year-old man was assaulted, Gehlot noted that the current administration's response to such crimes has been inadequate. He pointed out a worrying trend: crime rates against these communities have surged significantly month after month.

In a social media post, Gehlot highlighted past efforts during his administration to promptly address such atrocities, urging the current government to uphold the same standards.
