Eleven Cases Filed Against Landlords in J&K for Tenant Verification Failures

Authorities in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district have filed eleven cases against land and house owners for allegedly not providing details of their tenants to local police, an official spokesperson reported.

The crackdown followed multiple instances of anti-national elements residing in residential areas under the guise of tenants and domestic help in Jammu. Police verification is being enforced to prevent such scenarios.

The cases were registered at police stations in Samba, Vijaypur, and Rajpura under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The district magistrate had previously mandated tenant police verification. Police are urging residents to comply and furnish complete tenant and domestic help information for prompt verification.
