At least 36 people have been killed and 162 others injured in armed clashes between two tribes over a land dispute in Pakistan's restive Kurram district, officials reported on Sunday.
The heavy fighting began five days ago in Boshera village and has since spread to other areas. The conflict has seen tribes using sophisticated weaponry, including mortar and rocket launchers.
Efforts are underway to broker a ceasefire, with temporary truces already in place in some areas. Heavy security has been deployed as residents report continued gunfire in remaining hotspots.
