Jaishankar Urges Global Unity Against Terrorism at ASEAN Forum
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called on the international community to combat terrorism in all its forms during the 31st ASEAN Regional Forum in Vientiane. He emphasized the need for international cooperation in areas such as economic, political, and technological spheres to address global challenges like terrorism, cybercrime, and maritime security.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has called upon the international community to adopt a robust stance in the fight against terrorism, emphasizing the importance of dismantling terror sanctuaries and disrupting UN-proscribed terrorism financing networks.
Speaking at the 31st ASEAN Regional Forum in Vientiane, Jaishankar highlighted the challenges posed by COVID, conflict, and climate change. He stressed that solutions must come through international cooperation in economic, political, technological, and connectivity domains.
Jaishankar also reaffirmed India's support for ASEAN unity and the importance of maritime safety and security, underscoring that peaceful resolution of disputes should be in accordance with international law.
