In a shocking incident in Rajasthan's Salumbar district, Fateh Singh, a 30-year-old man, allegedly murdered his friend Shankar Lal Meghwal, aged 40, with a sword before turning the weapon on himself. The incident occurred late on Thursday, police confirmed on Saturday.

According to Superintendent of Police Arshad Ali, Singh was cornered in a hilly area by the police and locals late on Friday. Despite efforts to persuade Singh to surrender, he slit his own throat. Singh was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Reports suggest Singh had gone into hiding after the initial attack. The police believe the motive behind the crime was Singh's suspicion that Meghwal had performed witchcraft, leading to losses in his business. Meghwal's father, Dal Chand, was also injured during the attack and is currently undergoing treatment. Locals stated that Singh and Meghwal, both residents of Meghwal basti, were good friends until about a year ago and shared an interest in witchcraft.
