ITBP Set to Benefit from Agniveers' Induction

Agniveers will prove invaluable for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) as they join from the Army, said ITBP Director General Rahul Rasgotra. The recruitment process, facilitated by amendments in recruitment rules, aims to bring discipline and vigor to the force. The Agnipath scheme, launched in 2022, targets young recruits for a short-term engagement to reduce the age profile of India’s armed services.

Agniveers are expected to bring significant benefits to the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), which monitors the Line of Actual Control with China, according to ITBP Director General Rahul Rasgotra.

All necessary preparations for the recruitment of these trained and disciplined soldiers from the Army have been completed, Rasgotra announced in a video message shared by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs on its social media platform.

The initiative aligns with the ITBP's and Army's joint mission to secure the India-China front and is anticipated to infuse new energy into the force. Amendments to the ITBP's recruitment rules now allow for age and physical efficiency test relaxations for Agniveers starting their duty.
