NSA Ajit Doval Leads Indian Delegation at BIMSTEC Security Chiefs' Meeting
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is leading the Indian delegation at the 4th annual BIMSTEC Security Chiefs’ meeting in Myanmar. The summit focuses on addressing common security challenges among member states. Doval also met Myanmar’s counterparts and attended the state funeral of Vietnam's general secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will lead the Indian delegation at the 4th annual meeting of the security chiefs of the member nations of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) in Myanmar on Friday.
The meeting in Myanmar's capital, Naypyidaw, has been convened to strategize and coordinate initiatives crucial for addressing common security challenges faced by these nations.
Ajit Doval met his Myanmar counterpart Admiral Moe Aung on Thursday, and along with other BIMSTEC security chiefs, called on Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
Doval arrived in Myanmar from Hanoi, where he attended the state funeral of Nguyen Phu Trong, general secretary of Vietnam's ruling Communist Party, and conveyed India's condolences.
BIMSTEC is a regional organization aimed at promoting economic growth, trade, and cooperation in areas such as transportation, energy, and counter-terrorism among its member states: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.
