On Thursday, BJP legislators in Karnataka organized a march to Raj Bhavan, where they met Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to lodge a complaint about an alleged site scam involving the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA).

The lawmakers accused the ruling Congress of preventing them from raising the scam issue in both legislative Houses.

Spurred by the abrupt adjournment of the Karnataka legislature session, the legislators, led by Leader of Opposition R Ashoka and BJP State president B Y Vijayendra, marched to Raj Bhavan, placards and posters in hand, to meet Governor Gehlot.

During the meeting, BJP leaders presented a memorandum detailing the alleged scam. Addressing reporters afterward, Ashoka accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of direct involvement in the MUDA scam.

According to Ashoka, corruption is rampant in the current government, which he claims is now known worldwide. He contends that no ruling party in Karnataka's history has faced such disgrace due to multiple scams.

Ashoka highlighted the BJP and JD(S)'s agitation concerning the Rs 187 crore Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki ST Development Corporation scandal, which led to the resignation and imprisonment of Congress MLA B Nagendra.

Several officers and another MLA are also implicated and are set to face imprisonment, he claimed.

Focusing on the MUDA scam, Ashoka reported that it occurred during Siddaramaiah's tenure as Deputy Chief Minister in the 1990s. He alleged that over one lakh square feet of land were misappropriated under a 50:50 scheme led by Siddaramaiah and his supporters.

Further, he accused the Chief Minister of violating the Constitution despite having taken an oath to uphold its values.

Ashoka stressed that BJP legislators were blocked from discussing the issue in the legislative Houses and demanded the Chief Minister's resignation. He also alleged that 14 plots had been allocated to Siddaramaiah's family, even while 86,000 people awaited MUDA plots.
