NCP Rajya Sabha member Fauzia Khan addressed the House on Thursday to discuss the challenges faced by disabled candidates in public service exams.
She brought attention to the case of Kartik Kansal, who has muscular dystrophy and has cleared the UPSC exams four times, yet is still denied service.
Khan compared Kansal's plight with Puja Khedkar, alleging that Khedkar secured a posting through false documents, while Kansal's disability is not recognized in the eligible conditions list.
Despite securing a rank that qualifies him for the Indian Administrative Service, Kansal's condition has been a barrier.
Khan emphasized the need for a more inclusive system, calling for uniform guidelines and fair evaluations for candidates with disabilities.
Meanwhile, BJD's Manas Ranjan Mangaraj highlighted issues faced by Odisha farmers due to delayed crop insurance payments.
He criticized the central government for failing to prioritize and streamline the compensation process, urging immediate action to support the affected farmers.
