Justice Alexander Thomas, the former Acting Chief Justice of Kerala High Court, has been appointed as the new chairperson of the Kerala State Human Rights Commission (KSHRC).
The appointment was approved by Governor Arif Mohammed Khan following the unanimous recommendation of a high-level committee comprising the Chief Minister, the Speaker, and the Opposition leader.
Justice Thomas brings extensive experience to the role, having served as a judge at the Kerala High Court from 2014 to 2023 and held the position of Acting Chief Justice in July 2023. In his esteemed career, he has settled over 25,000 cases and held key roles in various judicial institutions in Kerala.
