A Muslim head constable of the SDRF, Ashiq Ali, has become a local hero by rescuing five Kanwariyas from drowning in the Ganga River in separate incidents.
Deployed at Kangra ghat near Har Ki Pairi, Ali, along with his colleagues, showed unparalleled bravery in saving Monu, Govind Singh, Sandeep Singh, Karan, and Ankit from the river's treacherous currents on Monday and Tuesday.
Ali stated that his motivation comes from the spiritual fulfillment he gains from saving lives, viewing every person as a human being above all else. For his exemplary work, Haridwar SSP Parmendra Doval honored him with the 'Man of the Day' title.
