Two employees of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) were shot at by motorcycle-borne assailants on campus Wednesday, police reported. The injured individuals have been hospitalized, and the suspects are in police custody.

Authorities revealed that the victims, Mohammad Nadeem and Kaleem, were on a two-wheeler within the university premises when two armed attackers intercepted them, shooting at close range and leaving them critically injured.

Responding to the gunfire, the university's security patrol team pursued and captured the assailants, later handing them over to the police. Preliminary investigations suggest the attack stemmed from an old enmity. AMU Proctor Mohammad Wasim Ali confirmed the injured employees are receiving treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College Hospital.
