Four sharpshooters of a notorious gang active in the trans-Yamuna area, including one allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of a 32-year-old man inside a ward at GTB Hospital, were arrested, officials reported on Tuesday.
The suspects, identified as Rahul Singh (33), Suhail (22), Mukesh (27), and Sameer (22), have been implicated in multiple offenses including murder, robbery, extortion, and violations of the Arms Act, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (special cell) Pratiksha Godara.
Police said the accused frequently changed their hideouts to evade arrest. However, following continuous tracking, they were traced and apprehended in Rishikesh and Delhi. A significant cache of weapons, including four pistols and 12 live cartridges, was seized during the operations.
Further investigations are underway to uncover more details about their criminal activities, the officer said.
