Woman Busted with Rs 21 Lakh Worth of Charas in Thane
Police in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, arrested a 39-year-old woman possessing charas worth nearly Rs 21 lakh. Seized at Kasaiwada, Nizampura, the charas weighed 2.2 kilograms. An FIR under the NDPS Act was filed, and the woman was remanded to police custody for four days. She allegedly procured the contraband from Uttar Pradesh.

Police have apprehended a 39-year-old woman in Bhiwandi, Thane district, Maharashtra, and seized charas valued at approximately Rs 21 lakh, according to an official.
The arrest, executed on Monday by the Shanti Nagar police team following a tip-off, resulted in the confiscation of 2.2 kilograms of charas from the woman in the Kasaiwada area of Nizampura, senior inspector Vinayak Gaikwad confirmed.
An FIR under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act has been registered against her, and she has been remanded into police custody for four days. Preliminary investigations reveal that the woman procured the contraband from Uttar Pradesh, the official added.
