The BSF South Bengal Frontier has set up special help desks at Integrated Check Posts (ICP) along the India-Bangladesh border. This initiative is aimed at ensuring the safe return of students from the violence-affected neighboring country.

BSF officials stated that coordination with the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has been established to manage the evacuation process efficiently, even during night-time operations. This effort has successfully facilitated the return of 572 Indian students, 133 Nepalese students, and four Bhutanese students so far.

BSF DIG A K Arya highlighted that the immigration desk at ICP Petrapole will now operate 24/7 to ensure uninterrupted passage. Meanwhile, Bangladesh has faced violent protests over the controversial job quota system, leading to significant fatalities and a Supreme Court ruling to reduce job quotas for veterans' descendants.
