Police in Jalna, Maharashtra, have charged three individuals from Bangalore for allegedly uploading an obscene video targeting people with hearing and speech disabilities. The complaint, filed by Neelam Patwari of an association representing the deaf and hard of hearing, led to the Sadar Bazar police registering the case.

The accused, identified as Rohan Cariappa, Shovan Bhattacharya, and Sandhya Devanathan, used sign language in the video to depict lewd actions, which was found profoundly offensive by the disabled community and posted it on Instagram.

The case has been filed under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) section 79, the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, and the Information Technology Act, officials said.
