Israeli fighter jets struck Houthi military targets in Hodeidah port, Yemen, following a drone attack on Tel Aviv, the Israeli military confirmed on Saturday. The Iranian-backed group's drone strike on Israel's economic hub led to fatalities and damage, escalating regional tensions.

Residents of Hodeidah reported hearing explosions throughout the city during the heavy bombardment. Al-Masirah TV, the Houthi-run news outlet, claimed the strikes targeted oil facilities, resulting in casualties. Israel's military stated that the port was used to receive weapons from Iran and targeted dual-use sites like energy infrastructure.

The strike comes after more than 200 Houthi attacks on Israel, signaling fears of the Gaza war evolving into a regional conflict. Israeli Defence Minister Yoav Gallant emphasized the growing risks, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu urged international pressure on Tehran and its proxies to secure stability in the Middle East.
