Indian Embassy Rescues Over 650 Citizens from Cambodia Cybercrime Rings

Fourteen Indians ensnared in cybercrime operations in Cambodia have been rescued, thanks to coordinated efforts between local law enforcement and the Indian embassy in Phnom Penh.
The Indian embassy announced on Saturday that it has helped rescue and repatriate over 650 Indian citizens who fell prey to these fraudulent job scams.
Specific leads provided to Cambodian police recently led to the rescue of the 14 additional victims, who are now under the care of an NGO in coordination with Cambodia's Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation.
The embassy continues to actively work with Cambodian authorities to facilitate the rescue and safe return of Indian nationals caught in these schemes. The embassy emphasized that ongoing communication with Cambodian officials aims to expedite the completion of necessary formalities for the repatriation of the 14 rescued individuals.
Indian citizens in Cambodia are urged to exercise extreme caution regarding job offers and report any suspicious activities immediately to the embassy. The embassy reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the welfare of Indian nationals in Cambodia.
