A Border Security Force officer and a jawan tragically lost their lives during a patrol at the Harami Nallah creek area along the India-Pakistan border in Gujarat, official sources confirmed on Saturday. The victims, Assistant Commandant Vishwadeo and Head Constable Dayal Ram, fell to extreme heat exposure on Friday.

Both men were part of the 59th BSF battalion and were conducting a critical 'zero line' patrol when they collapsed, reportedly from heat stroke and dehydration. Despite immediate medical attention and being rushed to a health facility in Bhuj, the officers could not be revived.

This incident highlights the severe and life-threatening conditions that security personnel face while guarding the nation's borders. Authorities are likely to review protocols for patrolling in extreme weather conditions to prevent future tragedies.
