BRS leader K Kavitha, currently lodged in Tihar jail in relation to a money laundering case, was taken to Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital after developing some gynaecological issues and a high fever, officials reported on Tuesday.

The 46-year-old politician was brought back to prison following medical tests at the hospital, sources confirmed. Kavitha had been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 15 from her Hyderabad residence in connection with the Delhi excise policy-linked money laundering case. Subsequently, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) detained her on April 11 from Tihar jail in a related corruption case.

Officials stated, "Kavitha was taken to DDU Hospital after she developed some gynaecological problem and high fever around 4.30 pm. She was kept under observation and underwent some tests." After a two-hour hospital stay, she was returned to jail, where she is housed in Tihar's jail number 6.

According to sources, Kavitha frequently experiences gynaecological issues in prison and is looked after by a team of doctors. Earlier this month, the Delhi High Court denied her bail in the related money laundering and corruption cases.
