Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Tuesday urged the Tamil Nadu government to support the Mekedatu project across the river Cauvery, emphasizing its benefits for both states.
Shivakumar expressed hope that water release issues to Tamil Nadu would be resolved, given favorable rain conditions in Karnataka's Cauvery catchment areas.
He appealed to Tamil Nadu to permit the project, emphasizing it serves the interests of both states, particularly in providing drinking water and generating power.
