Shocking Murder of VIP Chief's Father in Bihar's Darbhanga

Jitan Sahani, father of Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani, was allegedly found murdered at his ancestral home in Bihar's Darbhanga district, police said on Tuesday.
Jitan Sahani's body, bearing multiple stab injuries and cut marks to his chest and stomach, was discovered in his room at his house in the Biraul area this morning.
Darbhanga Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jagunath Reddy confirmed that a team of senior officers had promptly reached the spot and are conducting a thorough investigation.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed by the district police is tasked with probing the incident, according to a police statement. Mukesh Sahani, a former minister in the Bihar government, currently leads the VIP, an alliance partner of the INDIA bloc.
Political figures across the spectrum have condemned the shocking murder. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and state BJP head, Samrat Choudhary, assured the public in a social media post that those responsible will be swiftly apprehended and justice served. Union minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief, Chirag Paswan, also promised swift action and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
RJD leader and party MLC, Shakti Singh Yadav, critiqued the state's law and order, describing it as a total collapse and lamented the government's apparent unawareness of the rising crime incidents.
