Punjab Police arrested two gangsters after a brief encounter near Rajpura in Patiala district on Sunday. The gangsters, identified as Deepak and Ramandeep Singh, were involved in two shooting incidents late Saturday night, one at a toll plaza and another at a liquor vend, according to officials.
The accused were coming from Mohali when intercepted by a police team. In an attempt to escape, they opened fire, leading to a brief crossfire in which one gangster was injured. Following the encounter, both suspects were apprehended and a revolver and pistol were seized.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav confirmed the arrests on social media, commending the swift action of the police. The gangsters have a criminal history, and the police have been actively pursuing them since the incidents occurred. Deepak hails from Jalandhar, while Ramandeep is from Bathinda.
