Seven people were tragically killed in two separate shooting incidents in Birmingham, Alabama, police reported late Saturday. In the first incident, which occurred at a Birmingham nightclub, four people lost their lives.

Officers arrived at the 3400 Block of 27th Street North shortly after 11 p.m. to find multiple people shot, according to Birmingham Police Department Officer Truman Fitzgerald. A man was found dead on a sidewalk near the nightclub, while two women were pronounced dead inside. Another man later died at University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, where nine others were being treated for gunshot wounds.

Earlier that evening, around 5:20 p.m., police responded to a report of a vehicle accident on Indian Summer Drive. They discovered a car, which appeared to have been shot into, in the front yard of a home. Inside, a man, woman, and young boy, believed to be as young as five, were found dead. Police believe this was a targeted shooting. Area residents are urged to provide surveillance footage to help with the ongoing investigation.
