Two teenagers drowned in the Yamuna river near Alipur while swimming with friends, officials stated on Friday.

The victims, identified as 17-year-olds Dev and Shivam, both residents of Alipur, disappeared after venturing deep into the water, the police confirmed.

A PCR call on Thursday evening alerted Alipur police station about the incident, prompting a swift response. According to a senior police officer, four teens had gone swimming when Dev and Shivam went missing. Despite efforts from their friends and local residents, the boys could not be found, leading to a police rescue operation.
