Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Gary 'Stitch' Guillory reported that the baby, despite numerous bug bites, was in good condition. The autopsy of the four-year-old is pending.

The search for the child was complicated by Hurricane Beryl, which caused intermittent, heavy rain and high winds. Fortunately, a truck driver spotted the baby crawling near a highway.

The mother, Aaliyah Jack, 25, was arrested in Mississippi and is facing charges. The investigation is still ongoing.
