In a significant crackdown, Delhi Police has apprehended a 32-year-old agent involved in arranging forged passports for illegal travel. Identified as Jagjeet Singh, the accused was found to have facilitated the journey of a passenger and his wife to Canada. Officials revealed this development on Tuesday.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (IGI Airport) Usha Rangnani, the passenger, originally identified as Rashvinder Singh, raised suspicion at the IGI Airport on June 18 due to discrepancies in his appearance and passport details. Further investigation revealed his true identity as Gurusewak Singh from Lucknow, who then disclosed the involvement of agent Jagjeet Singh.

Interrogation revealed that Jagjeet Singh promised to send Singh and his wife to the USA via Canada for a sum of Rs 60 lakh, half of which was paid upfront. The agent also orchestrated a makeover to make Singh appear like an elderly man in order to match the passport's credentials. Singh was apprehended from Rudrapur in Uttrakhand. He confessed to his crimes and revealed that he runs a company named True Talk Imagination, dealing in ticket bookings and facilitating illegal immigration.
