Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi took a significant step towards public engagement by reviving public grievance hearings after a 16-year hiatus on Monday. Personally addressing and issuing instructions for the grievances brought forth, Majhi highlighted his administration's commitment to prioritizing public concerns.

More than 5,000 people participated in the grievance cell reopening, resulting in the registration of 1,540 grievances. Alongside Majhi, Deputy Chief Minister K V Singh Deo, and Ministers Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Pradeep Balasamanta, and Krushna Chandra Mahapatra attended to over 1,000 individuals.

Majhi elaborated on his administration's intent to dismantle the metaphorical 'iron wall' erected during the previous government's tenure, stating that initiatives have been taken to ensure grievances are resolved swiftly, mostly at the district level. He revealed that action is already underway for about 99 per cent of the grievances filed on the inaugural day.
