Commodore S Raghav on Monday took over as Deputy Director General (DDG) of NCC, Directorate of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andaman Nicobar region.
An illustrious alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Commodore Raghav was commissioned into the Indian Navy on June 1, 1993. Specializing in submarines, he commanded Kilo class submarines and led INS Rajput in its final year of service, according to a Defence press release.
A graduate from the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington, Commodore Raghav also completed the Naval Higher Command Course in Goa. Prior to his new appointment as DDG-NCC, he served as the Chief Staff Officer for the Flag Officer Commanding Tamil Nadu & Pondicherry Naval Area and was the Naval Officer in Charge for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
