The rule of law remains foundational to effective governance in Uttar Pradesh, asserted Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday. Praising the state police for their exemplary service, Adityanath flagged off upgraded police response vehicles (PRVs) at his official residence, marking the second phase of UP-112's modernization efforts.

Addressing the long-standing demand for modernizing the police force, Adityanath emphasized that maintaining a secure environment is crucial for good governance. He also referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for 'smart policing'—which includes being strict yet sensitive, modern and mobile, alert and accountable, reliable and responsive, and techno-savvy and trend-oriented.

During the event, Adityanath inaugurated air-conditioned helmets for police officers, marking a milestone in the seven-year journey toward smart policing. The Chief Minister noted that these reforms have elevated UP's status, making it the second-largest economy in India and setting the stage for further development and investment opportunities.

Highlighting the increased efficiency of UP-112, Adityanath mentioned plans to reduce response times and expand the fleet of response vehicles, including two-wheelers. He praised Kanpur traffic police for pioneering air-conditioned helmets, thanks to a Hyderabad-based company and Afcons Infrastructure's CSR contributions.
