In a significant administrative move, Delhi Lt Governor V K Saxena has mandated the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) to finalize the promotion and financial benefits processes for 3,178 employees under the Modified Assured Career Progression (MACP) scheme within two weeks, according to Raj Niwas officials.

This directive follows a comprehensive review by Saxena of the personnel and services within the NDMC, aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ambitious 100-day action agenda at the start of his third term.

The Lt Governor has issued firm instructions to resolve all pending promotion and financial aid matters within a 15-day window. Additionally, he has urged the NDMC Chairman to address other lingering service issues, including updating Recruitment Rules, processing Pensions, and finalizing Leave Travel Concessions (LTC).

Currently, 3,178 MACP-related cases, which ensure automatic promotions for long-serving employees, are pending resolution. Saxena has also highlighted the urgency of settling 5,561 pay fixation cases under the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) at the earliest.

The directive encompasses all 9,569 outstanding service-related issues in the NDMC's various departments, such as Secretary Establishment, Electrical Establishment, Health Establishment, and more. The move primarily benefits thousands of Group 'C' and Group 'B' employees, aiming to enhance workplace satisfaction and efficiency.
