Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife, Sunita Kejriwal, has fiercely criticized the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for challenging her husband's bail order in the high court. She accused the ED of behaving as though the AAP national convener was the ''most wanted terrorist in India.''

Speaking at a gathering in South Delhi's Bhogal, where Delhi Water Minister Atishi commenced an indefinite hunger strike demanding more water from Haryana, Sunita contended that dictatorship in India had crossed all limits.

''Yesterday, your chief minister got bail. This morning, the order was supposed to be uploaded, but even before that happened, the ED approached the Delhi High Court, as if Kejriwal is a most wanted terrorist,'' she stated. ''Dictatorship in the country has crossed all limits. The ED does not want to give anyone liberty and has gone to the high court against the chief minister demanding a stay on his bail. We hope the high court will deliver justice,'' she added.

Sunita, who joined AAP leaders at Rajghat to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi, also read out Arvind Kejriwal's message from Tihar jail. In his statement, Kejriwal expressed hope that Atishi's 'tapasya' (spiritual endeavor) would succeed and voiced distress over water shortages exacerbated by the heatwave.

''It's our culture to provide water to the thirsty. Delhi relies on neighboring states for water, and we hoped for their support during this heatwave. But Haryana reduced our water share. Is this the time for politics over water?'' he questioned, referring to the BJP-led government in Haryana.

The Delhi High Court has temporarily suspended the trial court's order granting Kejriwal bail until it hears the ED's appeal in the money laundering case associated with the alleged excise scam. The ED's plea was brought before a bench of Justices Sudhir Kumar Jain and Ravinder Dudeja.
