In a significant crackdown, the Chennai Air Customs has seized over 2,500 grams of gold valued at Rs 1.67 crore in three distinct incidents at the airport.
The Air Intelligence Unit recovered consignments of 710 grams, 1,056 grams, and 900 grams of gold from passengers who had arrived from Malaysia and Abu Dhabi on June 17 and 18.
