NEW DELHI: AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Thursday called on all INDIA alliance parties to back the party's demand for fair water distribution for Delhi.

Lashing out at the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena, Singh questioned why Delhi residents, who elected all seven BJP MPs, are still being deprived of essential water needs.

At a press conference, Singh alleged that the severe water crisis in Delhi is orchestrated by the BJP. Despite repeated requests and efforts by the Delhi government, the BJP-led Haryana government is still not providing Delhi its due share of water, he added.

Singh also pointed out that Delhi's government has implemented several schemes making essential services free but claimed that the BJP cut off the water supply to the people of Delhi as soon as election results came out.

Announcing Minister Atishi's imminent hunger strike, Singh urged all parties within the INDIA bloc to support Atishi and the AAP in this fight for Delhi's rightful share of water.

In response, BJP MPs accused the ruling AAP of corruption and inaction, claiming that despite adequate water releases from Haryana, Delhi faces a crisis due to AAP's governance failures.
