Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 'Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K' event at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir. He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over Rs 1,500 crores in sectors including road, water supply, and higher education infrastructure. Additionally, he launched the Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP) valued at Rs 1,800 crores and distributed employment letters to 200 new government recruits. The Prime Minister also interacted with young achievers from the Union Territory during an exhibition walkthrough.

Expressing his excitement about the visit, PM Modi cited two reasons for his enthusiasm: the inauguration of development projects and his first meeting with the people of Jammu & Kashmir after the Lok Sabha elections. Highlighting his recent visit to Italy for the G7 Summit, he emphasized the importance of government continuity, noting how three consecutive terms have altered global perspectives towards India. He stated that the high aspirations of Indians are the nation's strength, leading to high expectations from the government.

PM Modi stressed the message of stability from the recent elections, recalling a time when frequent elections hindered development. He praised the people of Jammu & Kashmir for their role in strengthening democracy, noting record voter turnout. He emphasized the transformation in Jammu & Kashmir over the last decade, attributing it to the government's commitment to 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' (Together with All, Development for All). He highlighted the enfranchisement of refugees from Pakistan, the Valmiki community, and Safai Karamcharis, and the implementation of OBC reservations in local elections.

The Prime Minister underscored the adoption of the Indian Constitution in Jammu & Kashmir, celebrating the removal of Article 370's barriers. He highlighted the region's development, pointing to increased tourism, the hosting of the G20 Summit, and the thriving local economy. He also mentioned significant projects, such as rail connectivity, new highways, and educational institutions, which have been established over the past decade.

PM Modi emphasized the role of women in Jammu & Kashmir's development, citing programs like Krishi Sakhi and Namo Drone Didi, which provide training and improve incomes. He also noted the region's potential in tourism and sports, mentioning the development of sports infrastructure and the success of the Khelo India Winter Games.

Addressing security concerns, the Prime Minister assured that the government is committed to combating terrorism and ensuring peace in the region. He concluded by congratulating the people of Jammu & Kashmir on the newly inaugurated development projects, reaffirming the government's dedication to progress and stability in the region. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister of State for Ayush, Prataprao Jadhav, were also present at the event.
