In a decisive move to expedite the 'Family ID' process, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed its current status on Thursday, pushing for its rapid execution. The initiative aims to provide government benefits and employment opportunities across Uttar Pradesh.

According to an official statement, Family IDs are designed to ensure that every family in the state can access government benefits, with at least one member securing employment. Currently, 3.60 crore families, comprising 15.07 crore individuals, are beneficiaries under the National Food Security Scheme, using their ration card numbers as Family IDs. Additionally, over 1 lakh families without ration cards have also been issued Family IDs.

For families without ration cards, registration can be done at https://familyid.up.gov.in to obtain the Family ID. Under the 'One Family, One Identity' scheme, each family receives a unique ID which will create a comprehensive live database of family units in the state, fostering better management of schemes and transparent operations.

The statement emphasized that the Family ID scheme targets the entire state's population of 25 crore people. By leveraging the integrated database from Family IDs, the state can prioritize employment opportunities for families lacking job prospects, ensuring 100 per cent delivery of welfare schemes to eligible individuals.
