A Bengaluru court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa in connection with a POCSO case. This development comes after the Criminal Investigation Department's Special Investigation Team sought the warrant due to Yediyurappa's failure to appear for questioning on Wednesday.

Yediyurappa, currently in Delhi, had previously requested more time to join the probe. He is accused of sexual harassment under the POCSO Act and Section 354 A of the Indian Penal Code, based on a complaint by the mother of a 17-year-old girl. The incident allegedly occurred during a meeting at his Dollars Colony residence in February.

Despite the allegations, Yediyurappa has firmly denied any wrongdoing and has moved the court to quash the FIR. The government has appointed Special Public Prosecutor Ashok H Nayak to represent the CID in the ongoing investigation.
