Missile strikes in Iraq did not affect any U.S. facilities and there were no U.S. casualties, two U.S. officials told Reuters on Monday, as Iran's Revolutionary Guards took credit for a strike near Iraq's northern city of Erbil.
The U.S. officials declined further comment.
Explosions were heard in an area some 40 kilometers northeast of Erbil in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region, local sources said, in an area near the U.S. consulate as well as civilian residences.
